Old About Page

Welcome to my blog!

Dec 31, 2009 – I have retitled this blog from “Fully Human Me” to “Pinoy Solo Traveler”.

I intend to post my travel stories and adventures here in this blog. Being a solo traveler that I am, I would just want to share my insights.

After being a “Weekend Traveler” this year 2009, I learned a lot of things. There are topics worth posting in this blog. And there are much more topics that is worth not posting, and would be better as is – unknown or discreet.

I would try my best to be as factual as possible, but of course I can not help but to share my own opinions and speculations.

Wanna hear my story?… Well, here it goes…

Puerto Princesa, Palawan

This is where it started – my being a beach-addict and snorkeling-addict. Even before this, I have been travelling a lot. But when I experienced snorkeling for the first time, I thought that it was really a great activity. A cheap activity that is, because you got to see fish and corals without scuba diving.

From thereon, I planned my travel with a beach and a at least a good snorkeling site.

Mactan Island, Cebu

At this trip in Cebu, this is where I discovered that being a solo traveller is also fun and a great idea.

My friends didn’t show up here in Cebu because a relative of theirs died. With that I was left alone at Cebu. With that, I muster all my courage and planned for an alternative trip. It came out a very interesting solo trip to me.

El Nido, Palawan

I entitled this trip at my “Ultimate Adventure”. And it was indeed an ultimate adventure trip for me. Until now, El Nido tops as my best destination I ever visited.

El Nido is now my benchmark for all my travels.

Sablayan, Mindoro Occidental

This is the location of Pandan Island and Apo Reef. This is where I first saw a pawikan.

This place is quite far from Manila. Travel time is around 12 hours. But thanks to the aircon vans, the travel becomes comfortable.

This is also one place I will come back again.

Pagbilao Grande Island, Quezon

This was an adventure roadtrip. Kwebang Lampas is the white sand beach you can find at Quezon Province. I never really thought that I can see a white sand beach at Quezon Province. But there it is…

Coron, Palawan

I have been here a couple of times, and I still enjoy this place. I love this place because it is a very accessible destination. It is just a one ride from Manila. After landing in Coron town, you already start your boat tour.

What’s unique here is that there are shipwrecks here and black limestone cliff similar to El Nido.

And now, this list of places will continue to add up as I continue to visit places here in the Philippines.

Until Then!

  4. Hi, we plan to avail of the PAL mabuhay miles promo to puerto princesa. But from what I’ve read, Coron is a much better place to go to. How do we get from PP to Coron and back? Are there regular ferry trips? Or is Puerto Princesa also worth a visit? We plan to go in August.

  20. Hi Owen,

Kudos to your blog! I just typed in Coron Tours in Google and alas!, I found this blog.

It’s very informative and helps a lot of people, foreigner and kababayans to discover the magnificent Philipines Islands! These will help Filipinos not be “banyaga sa sariling bayan”. Keep it up!

By the way, my family and I wants to celebrate my birthday (Oct. 15) in Coron and would probably be there from Oct 13 to 16. I hope you can help me out maximize my budget and of course enjoy our first time visit in Coron.

Can you suggest where to get the cheapest but good accomodation and tour packages with best itinerary? I will greatly appreciate your help for my incoming unforgettable birthday celebration!

I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks in advance.

  21. Hi Mr.Owen,

Our family is planning to go to Coron- El Nido this June of 2009..if its possible to send me a cost of tour good for 3 days and good for 5 pax. and do you have a tour for the said dates?

thank you in advance! God bless!

  22. hi there!!!my siblings and i are planing to go to coron on sept. 20 -oct. 1, can u arrange a 1 day island tour for us…we are a group of six…

  23. Hi Owen! How very helpful you have been to so many people! I hope you can give me your insight-

Would it be ok to bring children, ages 6-14 to Coron? It has been my dream to visit Coron and Calauit… and i’d like my children to share in the experience. We have not travelled out of Luzon as a complete family yet and Coron looks like it IS the place to go.

I saw that there is a superferry on Dec25, 2009. I’m looking at taking that to lessen our trip cost for 5 children and us parents – and then fly back Dec29 or 30.

Any information you can share with me will be very much appreciated! Thank you very much! — and if you would need any information about travel to international destinations like Italy, New York City, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Los Angeles, San Francisco, I would gladly share them with you too 🙂
